Laundry Tips

Having a baby can change almost everything in your household - including how you tackle laundry and your family’s fabric care needs. Dreft® is here to help with a gentle clean and these handy laundry tips.

Results for individual fabrics may vary. Before treating any garment, always first refer to the instructions on the care label.

  • Remember to wash* all of your baby's fabrics (clothes and anything else that could touch a baby's skin) before putting them away for storage.
  • When getting clothes out of storage (hand-me-downs, heirlooms, etc.) pre-wash with Dreft® to refresh clothes in time for baby's arrival.
  • If phantom stains appear after retrieving from storage, follow our tips for pretreating.

* While it is smart to wash all baby items before and after storing, do not use fabric softener on these items. Fabric softener on children's sleepwear or other garments labeled as flame resistant may reduce flame resistance.
